MacConkey Agar

For selective isolation and differentiation of lactose fermenting (LFs) and lactose non-fermenting (NLFs) enteric bacteria in accordance with standard microbiological principles.

Microbiologically suitable for  the selective isolation of Escherichia coli, Shigella and Salmonella. Escherichia coli colonies appear pink-red with bile precipitate, Shigella and Salmonella are colourless and transparent.
